“Is the UV light used to cure UV eyelash adhesive dangerous for clientsorstylists?”

Our clear answer: No—the LUV System® is safe to use.
That’s because the UV light sources we use for our special UV eyelash adhesive are significantly weaker than the natural UV radiation we’re all exposed to every day—even on cloudy days.

UV radiation is present even when it’s cloudy

Many people believe: “If the sky is overcast, there’s no UV radiation.”
That’s not true. The sun’s UVA rays penetrate clouds and can even be scattered. That’s why you can still get sunburned on a cloudy day.

In comparison, the UV lamp in our LUV System® is small, weak, and operates only in a specific spot—for just a few seconds at the bonding site.

What type of UV light do we use?

• The LUV System® uses UVA light (approx. 365–405 nm).

• This is precisely the wavelength range that reaches us every day from the sun anyway.

• UVC, which is used in disinfection lamps and would be significantly more aggressive, is not used by us or in lash lamps.

This means: With our system, we deliberately operate within a safe range of the UV spectrum —and at a very low dose.

Sun vs. LUV System®—the difference

• The sun: delivers a significantly higher dose of UVA radiation in just a few minutes.

• The LUV System®: exposes only the bonding point very briefly and precisely—while the client’s eyes are closed.

The actual exposure from our lamp is therefore significantly lower than the radiation we automatically receive outdoors.

Safety in Practice

At CFB Cosmetics®, we’ve designed the LUV System® to integrate safely and easily into your daily workflow.
Here are a few recommendations:

• Clients keep their eyes closed —this prevents UV light from entering the eyes.

• Eye pads can be used as additional protection, but they are not strictly necessary.

• Stylists can wear safety goggles if they wish. This is not required, as the lamp is low-intensity and targets specific areas.

• Short exposure times (1–3 seconds per area) are completely sufficient.
