Can you react to a lash lift with allergies?
To date, there are no known allergic reactions to lash lifting. Nevertheless, it is important that a thorough consultation is held with each client to minimize any potential risks.- Consultation: The stylist should ask the client about previous allergic reactions to hair color. If the client has already reacted to hair color, there is a possibility that they may also react to eyelash color. In such cases, a lash lift can be performed without color to avoid potential risks.
- Reaction to the glue: Although allergic reactions to the lash lifting glue are very rare, it is still important to remove the glue completely to avoid possible irritation.
Beware of residue:
It is crucial that no residue of adhesive, lash tint or lotions remain on the skin, lashes and spaces between lashes. Thorough cleaning is essential to prevent allergic reactions.Silicone allergy and eye pads:
Clients with silicone allergies may react to the silicone pads used during lash lifting. In such cases, careful work with medical tape can be an alternative.Disinfection of the silicone pads:
Silicone pads should be thoroughly disinfected after each treatment and carefully rinsed before the next application to avoid possible irritation.Alternative eye pads:
For clients who react to certain ingredients in eye pads, alternative options such as Microfoam Tape or reusable eye pads should be considered. Conclusion:
