Three signs of poor eyelash extensions

Three signs of a bad eyelash extension

If the eye burns, itches or the eyelash extensions simply don't look as agreed, it's clear: this eyelash studio was a failure. However, it is not always so obvious to the customer that something has gone wrong. To protect your eyes and health, today we have put together three signs that are not immediately visible to a layperson, but which indicate poor treatment.

  1. Pain in the eye:
Let's start with the most obvious one, pain in the eye. This can be caused by the Lashextensions pricking and stinging the eye when blinking. And this should never be the case, as the eyelash extensions should blend in with the natural eyelashes and not feel like a foreign body. At the first sign of discomfort due to pain in the eye, you should say goodbye to this eyelash studio and visit one that carries out the treatment professionally. Because if your eye stings and pricks, the distance between the eyelash extension and the eyelid was probably not maintained properly. This won't happen to an experienced eyelash stylist. In the best case scenario, this should be addressed directly and the stylist should be informed that the wearing experience is anything but pleasant. In any case, the customer should know that this is not normal and is an indication that the studio is not very good.
  2. Lashextensions cannot be combed
Anyone who has ever had laser extensions done by a professional knows how satisfying the feeling of combing through with the eyelash brush can be. You can immediately see and feel how long and thick the lashes are and know that a good job has been done! However, the situation is different if it is not possible to get through with the lash brush. Then the lash extensions are either stuck together or the brush gets caught on glue residue. This is not only unpleasant and somewhat disgusting, as the work has clearly not been done properly; it can even be dangerous if the lash extensions are stuck together - for whatever reason. The moment it is no longer possible to clean the lashes properly, the customer risks inflammation due to contamination. In addition, glued lash extensions can tear out young natural lashes that are still growing. In the worst case scenario, this can also result in unpleasant gaps in the lash line that take quite a while to close again. If this is the case, it is best to visit a trustworthy eyelash studio and have the unsuccessful lash extensions professionally removed as a precaution. A well-trained eyelash stylist will give their opinion on how to proceed.
  3. Eyelash extensions last longer than Superman Lois Lane
What at first sounds like the dream of many customers is in fact pure bungling due to the use of too much glue for eyelash extensions. And you will actually be able to see and recognize this glue. This is not only unaesthetic, but also poses risks to the eye and eyelashes because, as we know, glued eyelashes cannot be cleaned properly (see above), which can lead to infections and inflammation. In addition, the natural lashes could suffer considerable damage, meaning that hardly any natural lashes grow back after the lashes are removed or fall out.

With this in mind: keep your eyes open when choosing a studio and all the best!
