Difference between eyelash curling and lash lifting

To a layperson, an eyelash curl may sound exactly the same as a lash lift, but they are actually two different treatments. That's why we're dedicating today's blog post to the differences between eyelash curling and lash lifting.

What is an eyelash curl?

A lash curl gives your natural lashes a beautiful curl. This is achieved during the treatment in the eyelash studio by using an eyelash roller and appropriate lotions to create the beautiful curve. Advantage: You no longer need eyelash curlers. Basically, an eyelash curl can be compared to a perm for your main hair.
The duration of this treatment is around 30 to 40 minutes. The results of eyelash curling last between four and six weeks. The costs are lower than for a lash lift. As no additional eyelashes are applied during a lash lift, there is no need to pay special attention to home care, so you can continue with your usual routine.

What is a lash lift?

Lash lifting, also known as eyelash lifting or eyelash lamination, also gives natural eyelashes a decent curl. This is more pronounced than with an eyelash curl. This method makes the eyelashes appear longer, which is why it is ideal for anyone who wants curved but also longer eyelashes without having to resort to eyelash extensions.
The duration of the treatment for a lash lift is around 40 to 60 minutes, which is longer than for a lash curl. The costs are also slightly higher. However, the results last for six to eight weeks, which is longer than with a lash lift.
After an eyelash lift, you no longer need eyelash curlers either, as the eyes automatically appear larger and fresher thanks to the curved eyelashes. The treatment also has a nourishing effect on the natural lashes, making them stronger. Each additional treatment gives the lashes more volume. Although the result looks just as natural as a lash lift, the lash lift is more intensive.

Lash curling and lash lifting: the similarities

As you can see, although eyelash curling and eyelash lifting are two different forms of treatment, they do have a few things in common. Both methods are gentle on your natural eyelashes and do not require the use of eyelash curlers. The results are natural in both cases. As soon as the natural lashes grow back, the treatment carried out on them only becomes slightly weaker. There are no gaps as after eyelash extensions with eyelash extensions. After both treatments, mascara can be applied as usual. The eyes appear larger and the look is immediately fresher.

Disadvantages of eyelash curling and eyelash lifting

The only disadvantage is that the treatments need to be repeated at regular intervals if you want to maintain the results. It should also be noted that both methods are performed on natural eyelashes, meaning that it is not possible to thicken the lashes. And "lengthening" by curling is also limited by the length of your own lashes. If you want more, you have to resort to eyelash extensions or artificial eyelashes. The use of an eyelash serum could also help here.
Nevertheless, both eyelash curling and eyelash lifting are very popular, as both treatments in the eyelash studio are uncomplicated and gentle on natural eyelashes and there is no need for home care with eyelash shampoo and brushing. Perfect for anyone who likes it uncomplicated and natural.
