Can a lash lift cause an allergic reaction?

To date, there have been no reported allergic reactions to lash lifting. Nevertheless, it is important to conduct a thorough consultation with each client to minimize potential risks.

• Consultation: The stylist should ask the client about any previous allergic reactions to hair dye. If the client has previously reacted to hair dye, there is a possibility they may also react to the eyelash dye. In such cases, a lash lift can be performed without dye to avoid potential risks. 
• Reaction to the Adhesive: Although allergic reactions to the lash lift adhesive are very rare, it is still important to remove the adhesive completely to prevent possible irritation.
  

Beware of Residues:

It is crucial that no residue from adhesive, eyelash dye, or lotions remains on the skin, eyelashes, or the spaces between the eyelashes. Thorough cleansing is essential to prevent allergic reactions.

Silicone Allergy and Eye Pads:

Clients with silicone allergies may react to the silicone pads used during the lash lift. In such cases, working carefully with medical tape can be an alternative.

Disinfection of silicone pads:

Silicone pads should be thoroughly disinfected after each treatment and carefully rinsed before the next use to prevent potential irritation.

Alternative eye pads:

For clients who react to certain ingredients in eye pads, alternative options such as microfoam tape or reusable eye pads should be considered.
