Are there any studies on this topic yet?

To date, there are no studies on eyelash extensions during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For this reason, we recommend that you consult your doctor and address any concerns before getting any type of eyelash extension, whether using conventional eyelash adhesive or UV eyelash adhesive. If your doctor has no objections, you can proceed with the treatment.

Do eyelash extensions behave differently during pregnancy?

The answer to this question, which was recently asked of us, is a clear “yes.” But a simple “yes” isn’t enough. We always strive to provide you with the best possible information. During pregnancy, hormonal fluctuations can alter the growth cycle of your eyelashes. In the second half of your pregnancy, you’ll notice that your eyelashes appear longer and fuller. This is due to increased estrogen levels, which promote eyelash growth. Since the eyelash growth cycle has lengthened, fewer eyelashes are in the shedding phase, resulting in a fuller appearance.

After giving birth, however, there is a sharp drop in hormone levels, causing many eyelashes to enter the shedding phase and fall out more frequently.

For this reason, we recommend that you avoid any type of eyelash extensions during the second half of your pregnancy and enjoy the natural lengthening of your eyelashes caused by the increased estrogen levels. Nothing compares to the fullness and natural look of your own eyelashes.

However, we would like to point out that it is also advisable to consult your family doctor during breastfeeding to ensure there are no health concerns. This is for the safety and well-being of both the stylist and the client.
