Eyelash lifting vs. eyelash extensions - which is right for me?

More and more people who have previously relied on mascara are wondering what the difference is between an eyelash lift and an eyelash extension and, above all, which option is best for them. Today we would like to clarify these questions and explain which eyelash technique is most suitable.

Eyelash lifting vs. eyelash extensions - the differences

With an eyelash lift, your own eyelashes are lifted to visually enlarge the eye. This can also lengthen the eyelashes, albeit not as drastically as with classic eyelash extensions. Eyelash lifting is definitely easier to care for. If you wish, you can also have your eyelashes tinted. After a lift, you can even do without mascara if you wish. In contrast to eyelash extensions, however, mascara can still be used for eyelash lifting. The lashes appear longer and more voluminous, but in a natural way. The result is immediately visible.

With eyelash extensions, on the other hand, artificial lashes can be applied to your own, making the lashes appear thicker, longer, darker and more voluminous. There are many different individual eyelashes with different properties, which should be discussed with an eyelash stylist in order to make the best choice.

Who is an eyelash lift suitable for and who is an eyelash extension suitable for?

The choice between an eyelash lift and eyelash extensions often depends on personal taste. As a rule of thumb, an eyelash lift looks more natural than an eyelash extension, but an eyelash extension can also look natural if it is designed accordingly. However, eyelash extensions require a certain routine of cleaning and care at home, which is less the case with eyelash lifting.

Eyelash lifting vs. eyelash extensions - which lasts longer?

An eyelash lift lasts up to six weeks until the natural lashes fall out and new ones grow back. An eyelash extension also lasts a few weeks, but requires regular top-up appointments every three weeks to avoid gaps. It is also important to note that you must be careful not to rub your eyes when having eyelash extensions, as otherwise individual eyelash extensions may fall out, which is not the case with eyelash lifting.

Conclusion

Both techniques, eyelash lifting and eyelash extensions, have their advantages and disadvantages and appeal to different people. If you want to achieve a bigger change, eyelash extensions with eyelash extensions are recommended. However, if you prefer a more natural look and only want to achieve a subtle change with a big effect, an eyelash lift is a good option. Ultimately, both techniques can be tried as long as they are carried out professionally and all care instructions are followed. Take courage, nothing can go wrong!
